Understanding the Holy Spirit through Scriptures. Why you need Him in Motherhood.
To know Holy Spirit and walk with Him in motherhood is key to accomplishing all that God has for you and to bear fruit. The bible tells us that if we are not abiding, we are cut off, not able to bear fruit. As mothers, we need all the peace, joy and patience we can get! In this post I’m going to share scriptures that will give you a starting place for further study so you know who He is and what He is all about.
Who is Holy Spirit?
Holy Spirit is our advocate. Our helper. We can not do anything apart from Him. He is a part of the trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost.
Jesus tells us in John 14:26 that Holy Spirit will teach us all things. He gives us courage, strength and boldness just as He did with the disciples when they went out preaching the gospel.
In Acts, Holy Spirit guided the apostles to what towns they needed to take the good news to.
He still works the same today! Our problem, is we can get so busy doing our own thing, that we aren’t readily available to hear him speak. The still small voice.
As mothers, it is CRUCIAL, that we are walking with Holy Spirit. By listening, and talking to Him as he is his own person.
For example, your child misbehaves. Instead of rushing in to give a hasty punishment, wait on the Lord! Ask Holy Spirit what you should do. He will direct your steps! All of them!
We need this kind of direction when discipling little ones and keeping a home. It is needed and is of the upmost importance.
