How to Get to the Root of Anger. Christian Motherhood.
You may have wondered how to get to the root of anger as a Christian Mother. First of all, it is perfectly normal to experience anger. But where does it come from? Every negative emotion has a root attached to it. I recently talked about how being annoyed has a root of control. With anger, the root can be many things. One I’m familiar with and will discuss in this post is the root of fear.

The Root to Anger and Christian Motherhood.
Have you ever had the thought that if you don’t parent a certain way then your children won’t turn out well in life? Or, that each day, you seem to face opposition from your kids and you worry how your relationship will be affected? These thoughts can then produce fear which will give birth to sin in anger.
Stop!
First of all, I have been there. And some days, I still go there in my thoughts.( Hello, take those captive) The difference now is that I speak the word of God out loud to my situation and the fear leaves. Fear can cause us to stress and the stress causes us to be irritable and angry at every little thing. You have to stop letting fear control you mama!
God’s Promise
Proverbs 22:6 tells us that if we ” Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” That is a promise! So when we get down and out about our situation with our children, we have to remember the promises of God. He loves our children more than we do!
The Solution
The world will offer you many solutions. Take more breaks, have more free time, go shopping, etc. Yes, all of those things can be good, but the world can not fill our cup the way Jesus can. If you are struggling with anger, I highly encourage you to seek God. I don’t mean casually, I mean whole heartedly seek the Father. Wisdom to overcome something alone rests with Him.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
James 1:5
Letting Go
Ask the Lord to search your heart. What is the root to your anger? The bible says seek and you shall find God when you seek Him with all your heart in Jeremiah 29:13. He is there waiting for you to pour out your heart to Him. Let go of the fear that your children won’t turn out to be well behaved Godly kids. God has them in His hands and He has you if you let Him.
Repent
Release the control, repent of the fear and confess that the anger you are dealing with isn’t your child’s fault. That is the main thing that was holding me in bondage. I was justifying my anger and blaming my child. If this is you, you need to repent. Take ownership of your actions and then let go. Do not let the enemy hold you in guilt or condemnation. Be free in Jesus name!

You have purpose as a mother. God has given you these children to raise up set apart for His glory. Walk every day in the Spirit and do not give in to the flesh. The flesh and soul want you to stay in a place of gloom and doom. As a born again child of God you were meant to sore like an eagle and trample over your adversary. Rise up mama, put your armor on and fight! Fight for your family, for your children. We have a mission in this life to make disciples and our babies are watching how we handle life’s problems daily. How will you show the goodness, mercy, grace and power of God?
Don’t let anger get the best of you. Stay in the Spirit and walk by faith.
