5 Scriptures to Use When you Have That Anxious Feeling.

Many of us can remember a time when that anxious feeling creeps into our minds and then our bodies respond with a tight chest, increased heart rate and rapid breaths. It’s not good for us to get to this place. These 5 scriptures will help you to put anxiety in it’s place.

It can be hard, especially as mothers, to walk this life and not have worries. Things that we are unsure of. The future especially.

Do you feel triggered by certain events that are happening around you, wondering if they will happen to you? Or, the future of your family, will your children turn out ok? Will your health last until they leave home on their own journey?

There are so many other questions that could trigger thoughts which lead to the anxious feelings that creep in unwanted.

As a child of God, you can overcome these!

Our flesh and the enemy will try everything to keep us from fulfilling God’s purpose. Anxiety can cause you to halt when God says move. Can cause you to dwell on things when your mind should be dwelling on Him. It could cause you to be swallowed up in a backwards spiral of depression instead of trusting the Lord.

A warrior is not a worrier.

How do you fight the anxious feeling and thoughts that come at you? With the word of God! His word is sharper than a two edged sword, bringing light to the darkness, it is alive and active!

#1: Stand firm and declare that you will not worry about tomorrow because God, through righteous living, supplies your every need.

 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God[a] above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. Matthew: 6:25-34 NLT

#2: This is a promise! That if we leave the worries to Him and pray, we will have peace, amen!

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 NLT

#3: Say this each time anxiety bubbles up! Fear is often the root and it has no place in a believer.

#4: He cares about us! We must stay humble and leave the control in His hands, always.

So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.1 Peter 5:6-7 NLT

#5: When you are worrying, anxious, you are not trusting. Don’t let your worry become your bondage. Speak this over yourself and be free!

Surely God is my salvation;
    I will trust and not be afraid.
The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense[a];
    he has become my salvation.” Isaiah 12:2 NIV

These are only a handful of the many scriptures and promises of God that pertain to our anxiousness and fears. I encourage you to stay in the word daily, pray and worship to build your spirit man up.

If you are living in the flesh and not the spirit, then anxiety will rule in your heart. We must die to our flesh every single day and choose the Lord and His word daily. His word over the words of the world. His word over everything.

If you are a born again child of the living God, His spirit lives in you which makes you an overcomer. You will overcome!
