What Morning Sickness can Teach You…if You Let It.
Morning sickness will completely ruin your pregnancy if you let it. It can do so not only physically but emotionally as well. In this post I want to encourage you, wherever you are in your pregnancy, that you will and can get through this tough season.

When I became pregnant I was searching the web for encouragement for any mama going through morning sickness. What advice did she have, what was she using to combat the sickness and constant fatigue. Was there anyone else out there like me? Does this sound like you too? Read on for encouragement mama or scroll to the end to get the main points!

Not Your Typical “Morning Sickness”
You know the feeling. It hits before you even get the positive on the test. The nausea developing in your stomach and smells that aren’t smelling the way they used to just yesterday.
I’ll spare the details because if you are reading this right now, this is probably you, well… the you before it got worse and I don’t want to make you more nauseous than you are. So… let’s move on.
Some women have nausea and some have the really bad kind called Hyperemesis Gravidarum. I never had HG but what I did have and what you may be walking through is somewhere in the middle. You are completely nauseated, nothing sounds good to eat so you have to force yourself to consume anything to fill your stomach, your energy just got up and left and all you do is lay around on the couch while your other children are helping themselves to an all out play spree in a messy house that looks like a tornado went through it.
Sound familiar? I SEE you!

How to Make it Better?
Let me be real, you can try it all but sometimes things just don’t work. This is more a mental game than a physical one to be honest.
The one thing that made this better for me was to embrace it. Yes, I know. That sounds awful but it’s the truth. The more you prevent yourself from getting sick and running to the toilet the worse it will be.
To embrace it is to just say ok, I am pregnant, this is what is going on and it is what it is. I CAN do this. I CAN get through this and I WILL overcome this.
I can almost promise you, that once you change your mindset, things will get better.
Physically you will still feel awful but mentally, you’ve won the battle!
As a Christian, give it to the LORD. Pray over your baby and your sickness. Listening to the bible audibly and listening to praise music will just be added encouragement to get you through this.

Natural Morning Sickness Remedies
There are going to be so many remedies out there to try. You can check out this post on 12 Tips to Help Calm Morning Sickness, and below I will share what helped me get by without taking prescription medications.
- Earthley’s Mama’s Tummy Relief (I took this multiple times a day, it helps!)
- Digize Essential Oil ( Rolled this on my stomach daily to support digestion)
- Peppermint Oil ( Kept this on hand to sniff when it got bad!)
You will find these and more that will help support your physical body while waiting on the dreaded season of pregnancy to pass. It WILL pass! Hopefully even by the second trimester.
The Main Points
To wrap it up in a few sentences for those of you who are too tired to read the entire post, lol, I was once there!
This morning sickness is not just a physical battle, it is also spiritual and mental. If you have a good mind set to embrace it, lean on Jesus, and use natural remedies to support your stomach and digestion, you will have it better than if you were to disregard all of those 3 things.
After 3 pregnancies and now on my 4th I can tell you that this one was by far the easiest but was still extremely hard. 3 months not being yourself is not for the faint of heart but you are a warrior and you will get through this!
So Congratulations Mother to be! This is only a small hiccup in the road to the beauty that will come at the end of all this crazy. Once that baby is in your arms, you may not completely forget this time but it will make it all worth it.
